So you've downloaded Easy8, now what?

The first thing is to make sure you are logged into BEACON. You can use your Bright Customer Portal login to login to BEACON - just click on the "Login Now" button, if you haven't already.

Once Logged in you will see a variety of navigation topics on the left-hand side of the screen.  You can navigate your away around the community, or just type into the search bar what you are interested in.  Topics and coversations related to your search will begin popping up almost immediately.

  • On-line Training is a good place to start.  This is the same training our paid users can access and is available to you for no charge as well.
  • KnowledgeBase - Click on the Groups tab to see Bright's collection of articles on all things Bright.  From Getting Started with Bright to documentation, user management, node provisioning, cluster management,, etc.

There are no limitations on Easy8 licenses (other than that you can't go over 8 nodes). Where does the node-installer get stuck? It's probably helpful to take a look at /var/log/node-installer (on the head node, or on the node itself).

It's hard to say without knowing more about the problem. Please describe what you were trying to do when you received the message?

The upgrade procedure is still being developed.   
Typically the upgrade process follows 4-6 weeks after the initial release.

I will post an update here when the script is available.
