Asked a question last year

Can I setup a virtual machine in the head node of Bright 9.0? I am having a bright 9.0 installation with 4 compute nodes. I have to have a license server running on the head node so that license can be distributed to compute nodes as well as computers outside the bright cluster. I already have the licenses tied to certain MAC addresses. If I install a virtual machine, I can set the MAC addresses to the ones we have already bound.

Where am I?

In Bright Computing, Inc. you can ask and answer questions and share your experience with others!

Yes. You can use the virtualization platforms available from the upstream Linux Distribution.
For example:
* KVM, QEMU and Libvirt.
* Xen

We would highly recommend not circumventing application licensing restrictions, however.
