Seeing many out-of-country (all over the world) hosts connected to port 8080 on my login nodes, which is the port that cmd listens on. Bright Cluster Manager version 6.1 Advanced. Is there a known issue with cmd?

Where am I?

There are no known security issues with cmd. Port 8080 is a fairly standard port to run web services or proxy services, so it is not surprising that this port is getting probed from around the globe. It does not really matter, but it will not hurt either to restrict access using a firewall / packet filter.
